The full moon rising every night, the timing of Berlioz's funeral, the date Woland leaves the city, all line up with the Orthodox liturgical calendar. Knowing this on a first read changes how some scenes register. Not essential, but helpful for anyone who wants to feel the structural pulse the novel is built on.
