Oblomov, Part Two, Chapter 3
"It's just that life won't leave you alone, that's what!"
Now that we’ve had a bit about Stolz’ background, we get into the present day as Stolz attempts to help Ilya Ilyich to get out of bed and get dressed.
So there’s inertia there. Will Stolz be able to get Ilya Ilyich up and out? It’s like that old adage I often find myself thinking about when it comes to exercising, something like not having to plan to run a 10k, but rather just make the goal to put on one’s running shoes. For me it’s swimming; the inertia to get me out the door is massive. The inertia to get me from the living room to the shoe rack is a lot smaller, then from the shoe rack to the kitchen to get my swimming bag, and so on. But in my head my head it’s going to be 90 minutes away from the house and I’m just so busy! And what if the pool’s busy with families and floats? But I enjoy swimming and ALWAYS feel better afterwards. I think I might need a Stolz, too!

Question
How do you deal with inertia and find ways to do the hard things that you want to do but struggle with?
Still lovely to hear the birds tweeting above the building noise.
