Oblomov, Part One, Chapter 11
Wakey, wakey!
This is a short chapter to finish off part 1 of the novel, a somewhat comic scene of Zakhar’s attempt at waking his master. It’s depicted well in the movie adaptation, Several Days from the Life of I. I. Oblomov, which is available to watch with English subtitles on the Mosfilm YouTube channel. I’m planning to have a watch party after we’ve finished the movie, so sometime in July. Fancy it?

Well done on keeping up and getting to the end of part 1. How are you enjoying it so far? Are you surprised that this novel is not as well known as some other Russian classics?
The movie clip is great! I am loving this book, but it does keep poking me a little bit about my shortcomings.
