She knocks Raskolnikov’s door around 10 a.m. on the morning following the murder, accompanied by the caretaker. She spots that Raskolnikov is clutching some rags and quizzes him about it. These ‘rags’ are the blood-spattered frayed ends of his trousers and a blood-soaked sock.
The caretaker hands Raskolnikov a letter, which is a summons to the local police station.
Chapter 3
She brings a messenger to see Raskolnikov with money from his mother. He’s just woken from his four-day delirium. Razumikhin asks her to bring soup, tea and beer, which she does.
